Chipboard Screws are ideal for chipboard and softer types of wood. The smooth shank part of the screw allows it to spin in the top piece of wood and at the same time pull the bottom piece tightly against the top piece, thus leaving no gap between the two. The smooth shank prevents the screw head from pulling into the top piece of wood while it is driven into the bottom piece. These screws feature Pozi drive heads. They are yellow passivated and have great weather resistance.
Used when fixing wood to wood. When used in hard wood, pilot holes 2mm smaller than the diameter of the screw used, should be drilled to prevent the wood from splitting. Requires Pozi drive screwdrivers or bit to be driven into place.
